I am trying to arrange for Yasmin a well respected D.C. dancer to come out and do a workshop. I don't want to schedule her while there are any major events or workshops happening in this area.
So far the dates we are considering are July 19th&20th or July 26&27th or August 2&3rd.
If you know of anything that would conflict with this workshop please let me know.

Wed, May 28, 2008 - 10:38 AMThese are going to be GREAT workshops. I've yet to take from a teacher with as much attention to detail as Yasmin.
No matter your experience level you will learn new things from her guaranteed. She worked "over there" over a decade and continues to produce music from her former band. I perform professionally full time and still take from her weekly. She truly has a lot to give.
For those who don't know her- she worked closely with Mona Saiid, Shoo Shoo Amin, Sahar Hamdi, the Henkish brothers, Ahmed Adawiya and more. What a GOLDMINE of knowledge! Run, don't walk to this workshop!

Saturday + Sunday 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Off the top of my head, I know that Jim Boz / Pop Raqs are on July 26 and 27. That's going to be a big draw (I can't wait), so I wouldn't schedule anything then. Check out the upcoming events on www.phillyraqs.com for your other dates. Let us know when you finalize the dates and location.

The dates she settled on are in my post above in addition to a link to Viviana's blog post about it. I'm not sure if Viviana is a member of Phillyraqs - I will suggest it to her though. :)
