Wedding Drummer Rate?

Hey folks,

I've recently been approached about drumming at a Persian-themed wedding for an Indian family in the Philadelphia area. I figure some of you may have danced at a similar event, so I'm tossing this out to see what you think

There would be a DJ spinning Arabic tunes, but they'd like a live drummer to supplement. This is the first time I've come upon a gig like this, and I'm not sure what the going rate would be for that.

I don't want to undercut anyone, so what's a fair price? The Indian folks here at work say that their weddings tend to go looong, so I'd be more comfortable proposing an hourly rate. What do you all think?

I'm not a drummer, but I'd think a reasonable rate would be something like $200 to $300 for the first hour and then an extra $50, $75, or $100 for each additional hour after that. The range depends on the exact date and time (e.g., charge more around the holidays), what's involved (e.g., special costuming), etc. Good luck!
