I think it depends on the size of the troupe, what the troupe does, and the venue/client (corporations pay more, mom-and-pop restaurants less). I just booked a NYE gig for a fire/glow troupe of five dancers for $1,000--but that's on NYE. The last time this discussion came up (I think 2005), a few troupes noted that they try to get $300 to $500; some troupes said they charge $150 base plus $25 to $50 per dancer, so in that case a troupe of four would charge $250 to $350. I'm curious to hear from others as well, especially Hipnosis (hint hint!). It seems like there are more and larger troupes in the Philly area than ever before.
